I came to this class with an open mind when it regard to the readings. My favorite reading was the Watchman. This was the first comic book I have ever read, I might even go see the movie when it comes out. I felt like it was good to have a visual aid instead of the traditional novel form. I would rather have not read the short story snow. It was a story where nothing really happened. If I could add a book to the list I would add A Brave New World.

Blog post for the week of October 30

My experience reading the Watchmen was like the author of this piece. The Watchmen was my first real comic book read, so like the author I was a comic book virgin. Form page one of the comic I had to figure out if the panels read across in rows like most books or down in columns like news papers. I also found the comic very deep as if to hold me hostage in plot. This caused me to share the exhaustion the author felt after reading long stents of the comic. I feel that with so much going on and small hints and clues the Watchmen needs to be reread to gain a deeper understanding of the full plot. I, like the author think my comic book reading will get better with practice.
